The Boca Raton Police Foundation is pleased to announce its first grant to the Boca Raton Police Department. In April 2016, the Foundation purchased and donated a Firearms Training Systems {FATS) Simulator and related equipment which will be used to train law enforcement personnel in a variety of real world scenarios.
Throughout the nation, law enforcement officers are facing a combative public arena, as well as a new media environment that makes it harder for them to act decisively. To ensure officers are fully prepared for these split-second, contentious situations, they require realistic training that internalizes constitutional and legal issues so they can act decisively in seconds.
The use of the simulator will enhance the practical training currently administered to employees.
