With a mission of ensuring a safer and more secure community, the Boca Raton Police Foundation raises money to help the police department with training, equipment and other needs.
At its recent board meeting, the Foundation elected four officers, including Alan Rose as Chair.
“I am delighted to lead the Foundation during the Police Department’s Centennial year,” said Rose. “We are fundraising around this major milestone to help build the police force of the next century and have already engaged with many organizations and individuals wanting to contribute.”
Rose became a Foundation Trustee four years ago. Recently the Foundation funded the creation of a defensive tactical house for training, renovated the weight room inside the downtown station, and continued to support retired police K-9s – among other efforts.
Rose is the driving force behind United in Blue, a successful fundraiser that brings live music to Boca Raton.
“I love supporting local cops,” Rose said.
Over the next year he plans to lean on Chair-Elect Nicole Flier, who will lead the Foundation next year.
“She’s very smart,” said Rose. “We bounce ideas off of each other and work together well.”
Craig Ehrnst and Jeff Hollander will continue their roles as Treasurer and Secretary, respectively.
Rose is setting the bar high for his term.
“I would like to have folks say, ‘He was a leader and he got people organized through fundraisers, Rose said. “I’m jazzed about what we’re planning.”
