Given his family and occupation, it’s only natural that Finis Cole joined the Foundation’s True Blue Society and, eventually, its Board of Trustees.
Cole’s father served 20 years on the police force in two states. His sister is currently a police officer in California.
Though Finis didn’t follow his family members into law enforcement, security plays a major role in his business as a precious metals dealer.
“I love the community and I want to do whatever we can to try to help the police department to be as well prepared and well equipped as they can be – particularly considering the industry I’m in,” Cole said.
On a Thursday in late March Cole joined his fellow True Blue Society members for a happy hour mixer at Crazy Uncle Mikes in Boca – one of several such True Blue Society events throughout the year.
“I think it’s great,” Cole said of the mixer. “I love being here getting a chance to meet other people that are involved in the Foundation. I’m looking forward to other events later in the year.”
Cole enjoyed the event so much that less than two weeks later he joined the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
Focused on advancing the Boca Raton Police Foundation’s (BRPF) mission of supporting the Boca Raton Police Department, the True Blue Society is a dynamic ambassador group of more than 50 local business leaders – and membership continues to grow. True Blue members can promote their businesses and share social interests during multiple dedicated events each year.
Attendees at Crazy Uncle Mikes enjoyed good food and drink, and also received a swag bag that included a T-shirt, hat, plush police dog and two decals.
“It’s great,” new True Blue Society member Mark Teufel said. “Always happy to support the police.”
The True Blue Society is open to anyone interested in joining. For a $495 membership donation members learn first hand about public safety issues affecting our community, participate in or host True Blue Society networking and social events, gain exclusive access to BRPF projects and initiatives, and more.
New member Sandra Amani joined True Blue to provide financial support to the Boca Raton Police Department.
“Anything we can do to support them is great,” Amani said.
